A Florida teenager has undergone the world's first penis reduction surgery, according to a Daily Mail report citing the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
The 17-year-old's flaccid member measured seven inches in length but had a circumference of 10 inches.
Before the life-changing operation, surgeons described it as shaped like an American football and said it restricted his ability to play sports, have sex and even find a decent-fitting pair of pants.
Rafael Carrion, a urologist at the University of South Florida described the procedure as "like having two side tummy-tucks.”
The teenager complained to doctors of spontaneous erections because his manhood’s shape restricted natural blood flow.
Surgeons cut scar tissue from the penis by slicing alongside an old circumcision scar and cut out two segments of tissue from either side.
The study appeared in the Journal of Sexual Medicine and surgeons claimed it was the world's first successful penis reduction surgery.
