Who Took My Belly Button? A Calm Minute

Who Took My Belly Button? Losing your navel, are you ready for that? I’m Christopher Calm, with your Calm Minute. “They took my belly button!” cried my colleague Tabitha, the result of complications from her umbilical hernia procedure. A rare occurrence but her lovely innie is herstory! Tabitha called her mother first; after all, she had just lost the souvenir of their first nine months together In utero. Her mom said, “Oh, Tab, I am so sorry for your loss. Those doctors took my placenta when you were born. Had I known, I would have taken it home then, as young women do today. Why, those girls make placenta lasagna for their family, then send pictures to friends and followers on Facebook. Oh, well . . .” Suddenly, Tabitha’s missing belly button just didn’t matter. “Oh, mom,” she said, “You’re wonderful and I love you so much. Let’s have lunch. I know this great Italian place and the lasagna’s on me!” I’m Christopher Calm with your Calm Minute.
