What do you get when you mix a pre-school teacher and a physician? A film-making duo that understands the necessity of form, and will always make sure to serve the right amount of content at the right moment. Michiel Kremers and Teus Kappen directed and produced this first official short film of Parsec Avenue. Augmented by the cast performances and the film music by Sjoerd Rombout, Hair Loss (2012, original Dutch title 'Haarverlies') can be seen as an etude in which the scissors of technique never cut short the wild manes of expression. The story: Eduard’s (Bernardus Manders) daily routines are upturned when Jing (Simone Bergmann), a young Asian woman, enters his hair salon to get her hair done. He is immediately intrigued by her appearance. She leaves the store as a satisfied customer, but Eduard really wants to give her an even better haircut. During Jing’s following visits to the salon, Eduard becomes more and more obsessed by her Asian features.
